Janeczek Finishes Seventh to Lead F&M to Fifth Place at Salisbury Invitational

SALISBURY, MD – Meredith Janeczek (Jr., Hershey, PA/Hershey) crossed the finish line in 23:09 to place seventh ahead of Millersville University #1 and #2 runners Priscilla Jennings and Lisa Spatz and lead the Franklin & Marshall College women’s cross country team to a fifth place finish at the Salisbury University Sea Gull Season Opener Meet. Overall, the Diplomats placed all five scoring runners within 2:10 as Katie Byrne (Fr., Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) crossed the line in 24:17 to place 19th and Colette Buchanan (So., Hershey, PA/Hershey) finished in 24:24 to place 23rd. Megan Feehan (Sr., West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Shannon Weir (So., Villanova, PA/Upper Merion) rounded out the F&M top five as they finished in 24:47 and 25:19 to place 29th and 37th, respectively, as Franklin & Marshall defeated Waynesburg College, DeSales University, Rowan University and Wilmington College. Messiah College won the invitational with 55 points, while Salisbury University (59), Christopher Newport University (87) and Millersville University (90) rounded out the top four teams.
