Organ Symphony at Franklin & Marshall April 14

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall Orchestra will present a concert featuring Camille Saint-Saens' Symphony No. 3 on Saturday, April 14, at 8 p.m. in the Barshinger Center for Musical Arts. The concert is free and open to the public.

The performance of Saint-Saen's Organ Symphony will feature Peter Omundsen, organist at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Omundsen will be performing on an Allen organ generously supplied by Menchy Music.

In addition, the program will feature winners of the College's solo and concerto competition. Jennifer Jinn '09, violin, will present the Mendelssohn Violin Concertos,, while Michael Popovsky '07, baritone, will present Avant de Quitter ces lieux from Faust by Charles Gounod.

The orchestra will also present the Polka and Fugue from Schwanda by Weinberger.

The Franklin & Marshall Orchestra is under the direction of Brian Norcross, the College's instrumental conductor.
