LANCASTER, Pa. - Eleven residents of Lancaster County were recently inducted into the Franklin & Marshall College Nevonian Society during Reunion Weekend at the annual Nevonian Luncheon, June 1 at the College's Alumni Sports and Fitness Center. They are: J. Thomas Dunlevy '54 (Lancaster); Jere Duke '57 (Mount Joy); Daniel Fickes '57 (Lancaster); Faye Gelhard, wife of a the late Richard Gelhard '57 (East Earl); Lloyd Hambright '57 (Lancaster); Robert Hershey '57 (Lititz); Richard Kipphorn '57 (Lancaster); F. James Loose '57 (Lititz); John Musser '57 (Brownstown); Charles Portser '57 (East Petersburg) and Clair Wagner '57 (Lancaster). The Nevonian Society, named for Franklin & Marshall's second president, John Williamson Nevin (1866-1876), honors 50-year alumni of the college. Each inductee is presented with a lapel pin bearing the emblem of the Nevonian Society, a shield adapted from the Benjamin Franklin & John Marshall families' coat of arms. Founded in 1787, Franklin & Marshall is a coeducational, liberal arts institution. Approximately 2,050 students are enrolled in the college's 40 academic disciplines. The college's 170-acre campus is situated on the outskirts of Lancaster, Pa., a vital, historic city located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country.
