LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall Philharmonia will present a concert titled Don Quixotte on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Ann and Richard Barshinger Center for Musical Arts in Hensel Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
This unique concert has been designed, rehearsed and will be conducted by Laura Michaels ' 08 (Acton, Mass.). Laura has been studying Spanish literature for some time and is inspired by the Spanish story of Don Quixotte. She received a Nolt Music Award to organize and conduct this concert featuring our Philharmonia coupled with area professionals. The program will include Telemann's Burlesque de Quixotte, Silvvestre Revueltas' Homenaje a Federico Garcia Lorca (Garcia Lorca was a major Spanish poet) and Edouard Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole featuring Jennifer Jin '09 on violin. -30- |
